In her post, Moretz detailed her decision to vote for Kamala Harris, highlighting issues central to her values. She expressed her belief in reproductive rights, stating, “I believe that the government has no right to my body as a woman, and that decisions about my body come solely from me and my doctor.” Moretz further emphasized the importance of legal protection for the LGBTQ+ community, a cause close to her heart.

The social media revelation marks the first occasion where Moretz has openly discussed her sexual orientation, although she has been involved with model Kate Harrison since 2018. The couple initially grabbed media attention after they were photographed sharing a kiss in Malibu, California. Over the years, their relationship has been marked by significant shared milestones. Earlier in 2023, Moretz posted a video with Harrison at a wedding, while Harrison reciprocated by sharing an image of the two attending the NYC Dyke March event in June.

Before her relationship with Harrison, Moretz was linked romantically to Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham. The pair’s relationship began in 2016 but lasted only a year.
