Aberdeen’s annual Armed Forces Day parade on June 29, 2024, brought together military personnel, veterans, and residents to honour the armed forces community. The event featured representatives from the Army, Navy, and Royal Air Force, marching through the streets alongside vintage military vehicles, with crowds of spectators showing their support.

On June 29, 2024, Aberdeen hosted its annual Armed Forces Day parade, bringing together military personnel, veterans, and residents to honor the armed forces community. The event began at 11 AM at Albyn Place, continuing south along Union Street to Broad Street, and concluding at Castlegate.

Representatives from the Army, Navy, and Royal Air Force marched in full attire, accompanied by local pipe bands. A notable interaction occurred as Lord Provost of Aberdeen Dr. David Cameron and D-Day veteran Jim Glennie took the salute at the Town House.

The 30-minute-long parade also featured vintage military vehicles, and crowds of spectators lined the streets to show their support. Photographs captured the atmosphere, highlighting the pride and appreciation felt by both participants and onlookers.

Colorful Pride Parade in London Sees Thousands Partake

London’s annual Pride parade took place on June 29, 2024, attracting over 30,000 participants from various LGBTQ+ groups. Starting at Hyde Park at midday, the parade progressed through central London, culminating at Trafalgar Square with live performances, speeches, and music.

Key figures, including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and campaigner Peter Tatchell, joined the parade. Notable highlights included performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Ginger Johnson and a spirited appearance by the Dykes on Bikes motorcycle club.

Participants, including members of the British Army LGBT+ Network and various LGBTQ+ organizations, marched in colorful costumes, and the event was well-supported by spectators lining the route. Celebrations continued into the evening in Soho.
