Hear a previously unheard Madonna track from 30 years ago from a re-issue of Bedtime Stories

Madonna will release a new companion collection of material from her 1994 album Bedtime Stories later this month, the latest in a recent run of archival releases from the pop star.

Bedtime Stories – The Untold Chapter, due on 28 November through Rhino Records, gathers eight previously unreleased edits, demo versions and rare mixes drawn from the sessions for the singer’s sixth studio album, which marked its 30th anniversary last October. The compilation was edited and mixed by Stuart Price, known for his work on Madonna’s 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

The new collection includes early demo edits such as Right On Time (original demo edit), Don’t Stop (original demo edit) and Love Won’t Wait (original demo edit), alongside alternative mixes credited as Quiet Storm demo remix, short mix and new edits by producers including Howie Tee and Allstar. The full eight-track running order is:

2. Secret (Allstar new single mix)
3. Right On Time (original demo edit)
4. Don’t Stop (original demo edit)
5. Freedom (short mix)
6. Human Nature (Howie Tee new clean edit)
7. Let Down Your Guard (rough single mix)
8. Love Won’t Wait (original demo edit)

The Untold Chapter will be available as part of a 2-CD set packaged with the original Bedtime Stories album, and as a standalone vinyl pressing that uses previously unseen photography from a 1994 shoot by Paolo Roversi. The 2-CD edition includes a 20-page booklet of lyrics and illustrations, and copies purchased directly from Madonna’s official store or Rhino will come with a set of postcards; a silver vinyl reissue of the original album is also being released on the same date, with an exclusive poster for direct orders.

Bedtime Stories was released in October 1994 and produced several singles including Secret, Take a Bow and Bedtime Story. It was notable at the time for its smoother R&B and trip-hop influences, a stylistic shift from Madonna’s earlier dance-pop work, and is often cited as an artistic turning point in her catalogue.

This latest release follows Veronica Electronica, a companion collection for Madonna’s Ray of Light era, issued earlier this year. Bedtime Stories – The Untold Chapter is set for release on 28 November via Rhino Records.
