OUTflix is set to premiere the much-anticipated second season of ‘Slag Wars’ on September 17, featuring returning hosts and a tribute to the late co-host Sophie Anderson.

OUTflix, the LGBTQ+ streaming service from OUTtv, has announced the return of its popular series, Slag Wars, for a second season, set to premiere on September 17. The new, seven-episode season marks the return of hosts Rebecca More and Matthew Camp, with Fantasia Royale Gaga joining the line-up to aid in the search for the next international queer sex symbol.

The series, produced by Daddy TV, showcases a diverse cast of adult performers, sideshow and burlesque artists, and exotic dancers, all vying to continue the legacy of The Destroyer, a title celebrated within the show’s context. These contestants will have to demonstrate not only their sex appeal and creativity but also their business acumen to stand out.

In conjunction with the season two premiere, viewers will also be treated to a documentary-style episode. This special episode will delve into the cultural impact of the first season, celebrate the show’s legacy, and pay tribute to the late Sophie Anderson, a co-host from the inaugural season, who passed away unexpectedly last year.

Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv, stated, “OUTtv makes trailblazing queer content by LGBTQ+ creators – and bringing Slag Wars back for a second season is a testament to our commitment to vibrant, daring, sex-positive programming, which can be both fun and profoundly inclusive. Many of season one’s contestants have gone on to achieve success and acclaim in their careers, and we look forward to revealing the fresh line-up of incredible cast and competitors for season two.”

Philip Webb, COO of OUTtv, emphasised the continuity and evolution from the first season, saying, “We wanted to capture that same free-spirited energy that the audience fell in love with on the original season – so it’s very similar, actually! Our cast is a bit more diverse, and we’ve moved to a point system since almost no one went home the first time around anyway. But in general, I hope fans are going to be thrilled.”

Host Rebecca More also expressed her excitement for the new season, reflecting on the impact of the show’s return: “Season one aired at the height of COVID when it felt like people really needed it – a laugh, or a wank – just some joy. I don’t think the world needed that again until now. I need it too. I wanted to close this chapter of my life properly. I wanted to honour what Sophie and I built.”
