Louise Thomas, a 24-year-old transgender sex offender, has been convicted and sentenced to two years in prison for assaulting Tilly Lloyd-Jones on a canal path in Newtown, Wales. The unprovoked attack left the victim with severe injuries and psychological trauma.

Louise Thomas, a 24-year-old convicted transgender sex offender, has been sentenced to two years in prison for assault causing actual bodily harm. The incident occurred in April when Thomas repeatedly attacked Tilly Lloyd-Jones on a canal path in the Newtown area of Wales. According to Prosecutor Jemma Gordon, Thomas, who had been sitting on a bench, set upon Lloyd-Jones as she walked past in broad daylight.

Judge Timothy Petts, presiding over the case at Caernarfon Crown Court, described the attack as “unprovoked and frightening.” He noted that Lloyd-Jones sustained severe bruising to the face and four chipped teeth, resulting in difficulties concentrating on her university studies and causing nightmares and unease about leaving her home alone.

Thomas, who has a history of convictions for violence, sexual assault, and child pornography offenses, is currently imprisoned at HMP Berwyn, a men’s jail in Wrexham. Besides the two-year sentence, Thomas received an extended license period of two-and-a-half years. Defense barrister John Wyn Williams acknowledged the case was concerning, stating that Thomas suffers from unstable moods and post-traumatic stress disorder. He added that Thomas had been employed and doing well before being remanded into custody.
